Neon Genesis Evangelion, which debuted in Japan in October of 1995, is one of the most well-known, acclaimed, and successful anime series of all-time. It has the distinction of being created for animation before it was ever adapted to manga and has spurred an array of spin-offs, sequels, and re-tellings, as well as a huge assortment of merchandise and a healthy fan-base. Much of its popularity comes from the attractive line-up of female characters, especially fan-favorites Rei Ayanami and Asuka Langley Soryu. The two EVA pilots are now captured in another set of Otaku-pleasing outfits, this time as a pair of frilly-dressed maids.
