Star Wars Saga To Continue in 2015...
Pixar. Marvel. Star Wars?! In shocking breaking news, Disney has announced the acquisition of Lucasfilm in a deal valued at $4.05 billion. As new owners of George Lucas' entertainment empire, Disney has revealed plans to continue the Star Wars Saga beyond Return of the Jedi, with Episode VII targeted for release in 2015. Disney CEO Bob Iger said Lucasfilm had already developed an extensive story line on the next trilogy and Episode VII was now in early-stage development. Lucas will serve as creative consultant in the new movies.
The deal also includes high-tech production companies Industrial Light & Magic and Skywalker Sound, as well as rights to the Indiana Jones franchise.
