Weta announces that they will be releasing a new range of collectibles for Paramount Pictures' motion capture animated film, The Adventures of Tintin. A 1:6 scale statue of Captain Haddock is the first product to be launched in this line, with pre-orders currently being accepted at wetanz.com. Standing 11.8" tall and weighing in at 2.2lbs, the sculpture is scheduled to ship 4th quarter 2011 priced at $199. No more than 2,000 are being produced.
As reported in our story HERE, The Adventures of Tintin is being produced by Peter Jackson with Weta Digital on Animation and Visual Effects and Weta Workshop on Conceptual Design. It stars Jamie Bell (Billy Elliot, Defiance) as Tintin, the intrepid young reporter whose relentless pursuit of a good story thrusts him into a world of high adventure, and Daniel Craig (Quantum of Solace, Defiance) as the nefarious Red Rackham. The Adventures of Tintin opens in theaters December 23rd, 2011.
