Re: Hot Toys Lands IRON MAN 3 License
Well this was obviously going to happen. I mean, did this even need to be reported? it was so definitely, 100% going to happen. They wouldn't need to tell us, people would just know.
Re: Hot Toys Lands IRON MAN 3 License
While it seems obvious to the average fan that Hot Toys would get the Iron Man 3 license based on their past work on the previous Iron Man movies, the fact remains that Iron Man 3 is still a NEW license that companies bid on and buy. As such, there is always the remote possibility of another company stepping up and attempting to secure 12-inch Iron Man 3 rights. This isn't the case here, but it does and can happen.
In other words: Just because a company had the license for say "movie 1" and "movie 2", it doesn't automatically give them the rights for "movie 3" - unless that was signed into their past licensing deal. Usually each film/ game, etc in a series has it's own license, though some properties - such as Universal Monsters, Star Wars, etc - are rolled up into one. Toy licensing can be a strange, complicated beast.
