SDCC12 FIRST LOOK: Three New Captain Action Sets
Captain Action Gears Up For His First Mission, Plus New Marvel...
As San Diego Comic-Con prepares to get underway, Round 2 shares with us a first look at several new Captain Action items that they'll have on display at Diamond's Booth, #2401.
The first new figure features Captain Action on his first “Special Mission": Arctic Adventurer Captain Action (pictured above). Dressed for top secret polar action, this 11 1/2" Captain Action gets a customized white and blue permafrost insulated suit, white gloves and white boots. Crime-fighting equipment includes laser gun, belt and holster, sword and sword holder and an additional set of ungloved hands. Look for the fantastic package - with art by renown comic book artist Joe Jusko - on shelves this October priced at a MSRP of $34.99.
Also coming to stores this October are two new Marvel costume sets: Captain America and Thor (pictured below), both part of Round 2's “Classic Cover Series”. These Captain Action costume sets feature variations of the “standard” look that graced the covers of their corresponding comic books in the past. As an example, a bearded Thor and a Captain America Shield with extra stripes. Each set will include four comic book cover cards that show the character variation. MSRP will be approximately $24.99.
All these items will be offered as basic sets only and available at both mass merchandisers, such as Toys"R"Us, and hobby shops.
More surprises are to be announced at the Captain Action panel at San Diego Comic-Con. Panelists include SDCC guest of honor Joe Jusko and Overstreet Comic Book Price Guide publisher J.C. Vaughn. The panel is scheduled for Thursday, July 12th at 2:30 -3:30 in room 24ABC.
