    TF2010: Halo

Building block line to encompass all the Halo games...

Toy Fair 2010 coverage brought to you by the following fine sponsors: BigBadToyStore.com, PastGenerationToys.com, and Sekaido.com (YesAnimation.com).

MEGA Brands revealed at Toy Fair the expansion of their popular Halo Wars building block series. The line will grow this year to encompass all the Halo games, including the upcoming prequel, Halo: Reach. Packaging for new figures in 2010 will be labled Halo: The Authentic Collector's Series.

To display their extensive new Halo collection, MEGA Brands created a HUGE diorama at Toy Fair showing off all the new figures and vehicles in action. It was quite an impressive site; nicely conveying the great battles collectors can create when amassing a few of these sets.

New Halo MEGA Bloks fans can expect this fall include:

    * UNSC Shortsword - Includes two Covenant Jackals with type-51 carbines and shields and one UNSC Pilot with M6D pistol. SRP $39.99

    * UNSC Pelican Dropship Includes a real working front cockpit with space for pilots, four rotating thrusters for VTOL (Vertical Takeoff and Landing) action, realworking rear bay door and two UNSC Pelican pilots with M6D pistols. SRP $59.99

    * UNSC Arctic Wolverine - Includes all-new arctic blocks for sub-zero camouflage, dual Argent V missile pods with 8x working launchers, dual XM511 heavy grenade launchers, four real-working wheels with detailed treads, one UNSC Arctic Marine with assault rifle and one Covenant Hunter with large and small shields. SRP $29.99

    * Covenant Wraith - Includes Arctic Gatling gun turret with 456 pieces features a retracting Plasma Mortar with open-and-close deployment hatch, one UNSC arctic rocket launcher turret, one Covenant Elite Ultra with plasma sword, one UNSC Orange Haybusa Spartan with katana sword. SRP $29.99

    * UNSC Rocket Warthog - Includes all-new arctic blocks, four real-working detailed wheels and treads, new and improved Covenant Ghost design for a faster and more sturdy build, two UNSC Arctic Spartan-II soldiers with M6D pistols, and one Covenant Elite with plasma energy sword. SRP $19.99

    * UNSC Mongoose - Includes four real-working wheels with detailed treads, one UNSC Spartan-II with sniper rifle and one Covenant Turret with one Covenant Elite with plasma sword. SRP $9.99

    * HALO Collector's Case - Comes with three sets of MJOLNIR Mark V armor (Orange, White and Steel), Spartan skeleton to build your unit and a plasma sword, and MA5 Assault Rifle. The handy collector’s case ensures that unused parts are safely stored away for the next mission profile. SRP $24.99

    * HALO Buildable Figures - New additions to the series of buildable figures in Fall 2010 includes the EVA Blue Spartan-II and Covenant Arbiter. SRP $19.99 each.

    * HALO Metalons - New UNSC Flame Marine. SRP $9.99

    * HALO Mini-figures - New Halo Combat Unit 4. The Green UNSC Team pack includes two UNSC Green Marines, one UNSC Flame Marine and 1 UNSC SPARTAN-II to give your battalion a much-needed boost – all with matching weapons and special "bleacher" blocks to display your mini-figures! The Covenant Team includes one Elite, one Grunt, two Brutes, equipped with weaponry and bleacher blocks to display your mini-figures.

I don't have any HALO Mega Bloks yet, but I have to admit that the line looks fantastic. I definitely plan on saving for the Pelican and Shortsword.

Question: what are the "drop pods" in the pictures from Toy Fair? Are these in the mini-figure scale? Will they be sold individually? Inquiring minds want to know!

In-scale for the mini-figures and to be sold individually (packed with a mini-figure). No firm release date, but wouldn't be surprised to see them "drop" this Fall. Nice to see someone releasing these, wish McFarlane would for their 5" figures. An ODST and drop pod would be too cool.

Awesome! The first time I saw that pic I immediately thought of the pods from Starship Troopers (the book) with the peel away outer layers. Of course those didn't actually land, but these are still cool.
