As reported last year (see our story HERE), Playmates Toys was at work developing a toy line based on the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series. Set to air later this year, the new CGI-animated TMNT series from Nickelodeon returns Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael and Michelangelo in their fight against Shredder and his evil minions.

Thanks to MTV, fans today receive their first look at the new Turtle toys. As with past TMNT lines (a license Playmates has had for two decades), collectors can look forward to a extensive range of actions figures, vehicles, role play items and playsets. I'm really liking the Turtle's new look - more blocky and rough - similar in style to their original comic book days. Scroll on for tons of new pics...

The turtles themselves look AWESOME! Their party wagon van looks a bit too junky though.
