5-part original miniseries to be seamlessly edited together on DVD...

As previously reported, Shout! Factory will be releasing on December 6, 2011 Transformers Prime - Darkness Rising on DVD. Today it was announced that all five action-packed animated episodes will be seamlessly edited together on the DVD. This special widescreen movie presentation will also feature bonus content that includes animatics and a special look at concept designs for the characters and backgrounds.

Introduced to fans earlier this year as a five-part miniseries on The Hub, Transformers Prime - Darkness Rising continues the epic battle between the Autobots and Decepticons. Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Arcee, Ratchet, Bulkhead, and many others are back to "roll out" against Megatron's latest attempt to conquer Earth. And Megatron proves to be more powerful than ever, having acquired a rare element that allows him mastery over life itself. The Autobots may be few against the Decepticon hordes, but they find increased strength through bonds forged with three human teenagers, taking the human drama to levels as yet unseen by the franchise.
