As revealed in our story HERE, NECA had acquired the license to Crytek's upcoming first-person shooter, Crysis 2. Slated for release early 2011 will be the main hero of the title: Alcatraz in Nanosuit 2 Armor. The action figure, pictured above as an almost final prototype sculpt, will come loaded with articulation.

Not only does that look to be an amazing figure, but that level of articulation and bulkiness makes me think we're going to be seeing a lot of customs out of the mold. Jeepers, he's almost ToyBiz ML styled in terms of joints. I love those H-style hips, too, they allow me to pose my figures in really fun and cool ways, but not sacrifice the sculpt for the more vanilla. While I'm like what I'm starting to see in the Halo Reach line as far as hip articulation (that swivel-double-barbell or whatevers it is), I think this is still the best of both worlds in terms of maximum range vs. sculpt.

    Looks forward to it. Again.

I still can't stop drooling. This is one amazing looking figure ... and that's without any paint applications! I can't wait to see the finished product; I'm sure it's going to be fantastic.
