By 2000, the success of Spawn had allowed McFarlane Toys the freedom to experiment with numerous toy ideas, one being this underrated series: Spawn: Nitro Riders. Featuring large futuristic cycles paired with unique 5-inch figures, the loosely based Spawn assortment had
plenty of potential to be a runaway hit. Unfortunately, original concepts like this were quite common at the time, especially from McFarlane, and the line received a lukewarm reception from fans. Looking back, it's amazing how good we had it. An in-house designed toy line like Nitro Riders wouldn't even see the light of day on the market today.
