Re: McFarlane's TORTURED SOULS I too have almost all of these guys, and they're just as incredible today as when they were first released. I think Talisac is one of the most interesting and coolest "figures" ever made, and out of my vast collection he has received by far the most comments from visitors.

Re: McFarlane's TORTURED SOULS Probably my #1 fave line of all time. I can't believe it's already been a decade since they came out!
Re: McFarlane's TORTURED SOULS Awesome figures from a time when Mcfarlane toys were the best! Have the entire series 1 and a couple from series 2. After all these years they still look like they can compete with any figure made today.

I can think of absolutely nothing else that comes close to the violence portrayed in these toys. They were so wrong, they were right (at least in the eyes of horror hounds, like me). Produced in 2001 by McFarlane Toys in conjunction with legendary horror writer Clive Barker, Tortured Souls pushed the boundary on what an action figure could be by depicting characters horribly disfigured, most on their own free will, by a powerful being called Agonistes. There was an original story behind these collectibles - a character specific chapter packed with each figure. A second assortment called Tortured Souls 2: The Fallen was released the next year. While twice as gruesome, the series failed to find the success of the first series. I guess the shock value had run its course. >> CARDBACK ARCHIVE <<
