Art of War Takes On GANTZ

New 1:5 Scale Kei Kurono Statue...

Art of War, best known for their range of Berserk collectibles, is branching out with a new property: Gantz. Gantz is a Japanese manga series that tells the story of Kei Kurono and his friend Masaru Kato who die in a train accident and become part of a semi-posthumous "game" in which they and several other recently deceased people are forced to hunt down and kill aliens armed with a handful of futuristic items, equipment, and weaponry. Gantz has been adapted into an anime series, video game, as well as two live-action movies.

Art of War will be producing a 1:5th scale statue (approximately 27 inches tall) of the main protagonist, Kei Kurono, based on Gantz Episode 326. In this episode, Kurono is trying hard to save other people. He faces the giant soldier and cuts off part of its head with his long sword. Under the supervision of the Gantz creator - Hiroya Oku - this figure is as close as it gets to the real Kurono.

The 1:5 Gantz Kei Kurono Statue is available for pre-order directly through Art of War at art-of-war.co.jp/english priced at approximately $502.00 US (50,000 Yen). It is limited to 50 pieces, the nameplate on each statue numbered. The Kurono statue is slated to ship in June/ July 2013.
