Personally I was always more of a Count Chocula kind of kid, but there's no denying the nostalgic memories General Mills' cool cereal characters conjure up. Offered at San Diego Comic-Con by Mattel was this attractive Hot Wheels Franken Berry car. Priced at $20, the exclusive cost way more than your typical mass market Hot Wheels purchase, but then again, you weren't really paying for the car, but instead for the fantastic packaging.

Sealed in a white mailer box with the Franken Berry logo stamped on the front, the Hot Wheels exclusive instantly allures you to open it up with the rattling of something inside. No, the car isn't loose in the package. That's the tempting sound of crunchy breakfast cereal!

After pulling back the mailer box you'll find the real Franken Berry package inside - a mini replica of an actual Franken Berry cereal box. That nostalgia is really kickin' in now! Time to find the source of that cereal noise...

After admiring the lively animated box I flipped open the window box panel to reveal, not cereal, but the slick Hot Wheels car: a mini van, no doubt to transport Franken Berry cereal. Further inspection eventually revealed that the cereal noise was coming from below the car in a concealed compartment. I haven't actually opened it up to see if it's the real deal (I've heard it is) because I'd hate to ruin this top notch presentation. Mattel successfully pulled off the thrill of opening a box of yummy morning goodness to get to the prize inside, in this case, a cool collectible Hot Wheels car. Two spoons up, way up.
