Interesting question. They didn't say that any of the prototypes were 2-ups but they do look pretty huge. A quick check says Ian McKellen is 5'1" while both Bolg and Azog are over 7 feet, so maybe they just exaggerated that in the figures? The mock-up behind the Bolg and Gandalf figures seems to retain that height disparity.

So the 6" figs are going to be 2-packs? -- Sneaky/clever way to get us to buy more figs, LOL.

Too bad for those that already bought all of wave 1 as individual figs.

New Figures On The Way In Both Scales...

Coming as a surprise announcement when it got the license, The Bridge Direct wowed the toy community last year with their Hobbit figures. Both the 3 ¾ inch and 6 inch collections featured great sculpts and paint applications, excellent articulation, and extensive accessories. If there was any complaint, it may have been that we only got a limited number of figures when there were so many to choose from in the film, notably all of the dwarves. Well, at Toy Fair The Bridge Direct showed off a number of upcoming products, and Hobbit fans (no matter what your preferred scale), get ready to add to your collections!

In the 3 ¾ lineup we saw singles ($7.99) like Tauriel, Legolas Greenleaf, Radagast the Brown, and 8 new dwarves including Bofur the Dwarf and Nori the Dwarf. There’s a 2 Pack of Gandalf the Grey (re-pack) & Radagast the Brown, plus Deluxe 2 Packs ($17.99) of Azog & Thorin Oakenshield and Fimbul & Bilbo Baggins. A new Beast Pack ($19.99) pairs Azog & White Warg while the biggest set yet is The Company of Thorin Oakenshield ($89.99) with 15 figures!

They haven’t forgotten about you 6 inch fans either. On display were new Deluxe ($19.99) versions of Yazneg & Bilbo Baggins, Bolg & Gandalf, and Azog & Thorin Oakenshield. Also in the Toy Fair showroom were fun role-play weapons for kids and a cool diorama to show the figures in action. Look for all of these and more to hit store shelves in the coming months, and of course new figures and toys to coincide with the release of the next two films.
