$30 for a crappy Remco knockoff? I would only pay around $5 for one of these....$30 is WAY too much.

Action figure series set to put the muscle back into retro....

There was no shortage of cool fantasy figures growing up as a kid in the early '80s. You had LJN's fantastic Dungeons & Dragons, Mattel's massively popular He-Man and the Masters of the Universe, and Remco's wild series The Lost World of the Warlord (which later became Warrior Beasts). Remco's toy line was an attempt to cash in on the He-Man craze, appearing - by no accident - like muscle-bound barbarians and crazy creatures. They all shared the same body, but their similarities stopped there as each figure had a unique head sculpt, color scheme and outfit. I think every child's He-Man collection had at least a couple "Warlords" in it. As kids we didn't care about hot brand names, we just wanted cool men and monsters to battle with.

Come later this year, Zoloworld, in partnership with Robco Design, will tap the retro nostalgia of the '80s with a new toy line called Warlords & Warriors. Standing 5 3/4" tall, each Warlords & Warriors figure will star its own unique weapons and identity, and in some cases, even feature real fur pelts and cloth garments. Where Lost World of the Warlord figures shared one body type, the new Warlords & Warriors will be divided between a Barbarian and Skeleton body structure each with a bonus feature: Snap-Out joints allowing you to remove limbs at will!

Pricing is still being finalized, but these are expected to be below $30 each with price discounts on entire sets. To maintain collectibility, the Warlords & Warriors figures will be offered in limited waves. Pictured above are early test shots of the figures, while the images below show off more advanced painted prototypes. It shouldn't be too much longer... Warlords & Warriors are coming.
