SDCC13: Sideshow GI Joe Sixth Scale Figures

    Cobra Commander Returns With Reinforcements...

After a lengthy dry spell of new GI Joe product, Sideshow finally revealed a quartet of upcoming sixth scale figures consisting of Destro and a new version of Stormshadow in his commando outfit. It seems that Sideshow will be focusing on beefing up Cobra's ranks next year as there were no new Joe team members to be seen anywhere. With the recent Cobra Commander Dictator and Baroness figure pre-orders, there could not be a better time for the Destro's sixth scale figure to make it's debut and with the recent release of the commando version of Snake Eyes, an updated Stormshadow figure was to be expected. While several Joe purists will not agree with Sideshow's design choice for Destro not being closer to the 80's cartoon look, the figure does look impressive and stays true to the colors of the character from the classic animated show. The new Staormshadow figure features a more modern outfit and weaponry with an adjustable hood for customization.
While no new Joes were revealed at this time, it is safe to say that the next wave of figures will most likely be all Joes to balance out the collection but we will have to keep an eye out for any new announcement or sneak peeks in the coming future. In the meantime, with slated September release of Major Bludd followed by Cobra Commander himself in December, there is no doubt that we are headed into the season of the Cobra.
