Re: HALO Legends Blu-ray/DVD Coming in 2010

Those with Xbox Live had a chance to view one whole episode - "The Baysitter" - this past weekend via the new HALO fan interface: HALO Waypoint (free download). Not too bad, kinda cool seeing the HALO universe as anime! I look forward to the DVD release.

Seven stories from the heart of the HALO universe hit home video in February...

For fans of the best-selling video game HALO, the rides about to get even better...

Thanks to Warner Home Video and five of Japan's best anime studios - including Production I.G., Bones, Toei, Studio 4*C, and Casio Entertainment - a new seven-story anime film entitled HALO Legends will hit shelves on Feb 9th of next year.

With animation and production overseen by Mamoru Oshii (Ghost in the Shell) and Shinji Aramaki (Appleseed) and directors including Shinji Aramaki, Hideke Futamura, Daisuke Nishio, Toshiyuki Kanno, Hiroshi Yamazaki, Koichi Mashimo, and Koji Sawai, fans are in for a treat.

The seven stories told in the film - which range in length from 10 to 17 minutes in length - will be based in the HALO universe, but not necessarily focus on Master Chief. According to sources, origins of characters will be revealed and historical events explored.

Rated PG-13, three home video formats will be available, including a single-disc DVD version ($19.95), a 2-Disc DVD Special Edition ($29.98) and a Blu-ray hi-def version ($34.98). Both the 2-Disc DVD and the Blu-ray disc will include numerous "making of" featurettes and documentaries as well as other bonus materials. The Blu-ray will include an exclusive featurette - Halo: The Story So Far - which will detail the story of the HALO video games through Halo 3.
