ha, i'm so glad to see that others feel the way i do. yes, these are very impressive, but i won't call them an upgrade. the dc direct figures are as close to the game as you can get and at a fraction of the price. these figs will cost anywhere from $40-55 depending on where you get them while the ultra cool dc direct ones are running about $20-25. i have the dc direct arkham asylum batman and it is easily THE best looking batman figure i own, and i own several batman figs. oh and have you guys seen the series two armored batman? it's breathtaking. like someone has already mentioned, the size of these figures will defiantly be a determining factor. don't get me wrong, they are quite cool looking but let's be serious, these guys don't really resemble their video game counterparts. these look like they were taken from some japanese anime ...which isn't a bad thing.

you know, looking at these figures brings me back to the ultra cool resident evil 5 figures square-enix had done. the chris redfield figure was really cool but i always thought that the NECA version was better. but hey, that's just my opinion.

They're okay, but I still don't like this new style their doing everything in, where characters are all skinny and look like Evangelions. Batman is a big dude and even if you say that some artists draw him differently, you're still trying to make a buck off of Arkham Asylum/City, wherein he is a BIG DUDE. Looks kinda like a wuss, in my opinion

Joker's not bad, I'm just not sure the facial expression they chose for him captures the character at all.

At 40 bucks, these are a solid maybe just considering the size. Higher than that and I'll probably have to pass. Double knees doesn't do Batman any good if the shin armor restricts the ankle joint.

I wouldn't necessarily call these an "upgrade". That's kind of insulting to the awesome DC Direct releases. I mean, the detail......I'm sorry, "detail" is nothing more than a few lines painted on the figure as "definition", and some added points of articulation. They're too busy. There's too much going on. Toys don't always need that. That AND, it''s out of scale with anything else from the Arkham lines, and costs an arm and a leg to buy. Hardly an upgrade.
