    TF14: TOMY's Battroborg Warrior

Taking Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots To The Next Level...

    Train, Control and Master!

TOMY was on hand at Toy Fair showing off their latest version of the top-selling, award-winning Battroborgs. A modern take on the classic Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots game, Battroborg Warrior has players battling their 'bots using remote control technology - every cut, slice and thrust of your robot is determined by a single katana blade controller. Players choose their Warrior from themes including Samurai, Ninja, Alien, Roman, Knight and Viking, then customize the borg with interchangeable weaponry and lunge into a metal-meets-metal (or plastic-meets-plastic as the case may be) battle to end all battles.

TOMY gave us a quick demo on Battroborg Warrior and I was immediately impressed at how responsive the controller was. Wireless, the katana blade controller relays commands to the robot with simple twists and thrusts of the wrists. The more subtle you are with your moves, the more precise your robot responds with his attacks. Of course some kids are going to go all ballistic with their combat techniques - swinging the katana controller in a frenzy - but they'll quickly learn that victory comes with controlled moves.

Available this summer, Battroborg Warrior will see release as a ready-to-fight set - Warrior Battle Arena with 2 Warriors (MSRP $69) - and as individually sold Warrior Single Packs (MSRP $29.99).
