    SDCC13: PREDATOR Blu-Ray 3D

Fans Lose Their Heads For SDCC Pre-Order Exclusives...

Smack dab in the middle of the San Diego convention hall was the Predator 3D booth (#3528). With a Predator cosplayer luring in show attendees, the booth advertised the December release of Schwarzenegger's 1987 sci-fi classic Predator on 3D Blu-ray. While that news is exciting enough, Comic-Con offered fans two tempting pre-order deals. One offer was the pre-order of Predator Blu-ray 3D packaged in an extremely limited edition Predator head display case. Priced at $129.99, this cool collectible and movie bundle was limited to only 500 pieces. This bundle also included an exclusive Predator figure with your head scanned as a decapitated trophy...

For those that didn't want the Predator head case, a "headless" package was offered. Priced at $49.99, this movie deal included a copy of Predator Blu-ray 3D and allowed fans to have their photo taken with state of the art cameras courtesy of 3D Systems. Their image will then be used to make them the victim as part of a customized figurine using 3D Systems 3D printing technology that features the Predator alien holding the fans’ severed head! While I skipped on the offer, tons of people were eager to have the process done. Pictured above is an example of the scanning technology and the Predator figure.

The PREDATOR Blu-ray 3D will ship to all those that pre-ordered at Comic-Con when it is officially released in December. The custom figurine will be shipped following the convention.
