    Re: Super7 ALIEN ReAction Figures Pre-Orders Open

    $20 a figure at five figures = $100. Personally, I don't see the issue for figures like this that are a bit off the beaten path as far as mass market appeal. These were produced by a small company for a small, but devoted group of ALIEN fans. Because of the small company and small run of figures, costs are going to higher. Producing one action figure is double digit thousands. Small company and production run aside, unless you are new to the hobby, you'd have noticed that prices have only been going up across the board. You have MOTUC figures running close to $30 a pop (through a private subscription and from one of the largest toy companies in the world) and Star Wars figures at mass retail for like $12-$15 each (which have a production run at least triple to what these ALIEN figures have). I'm sorry, but the days of $10 action figures are long gone.

    $100 seems a bit excessive. How is that price justified?

    Missed Comic-Con? Now's Your Chance...

    If you couldn't make it to San Diego Comic-Con to take advantage of Super7's ALIEN ReAction Figures Early Bird Package, now's your chance to order, minus the early bird extras. Pre-orders are now open at super7store.com for the set of five figures. Priced at $100, these are scheduled to arrive this October.

    Faithfully based on the actual 1979 prototypes that never saw production, Super7's "new" figure series retains the vintage looks, articulation, accessories, and, best of all, packaging of the originally planned toys. The series consists of what would have been the entire first wave:

    * THE ALIEN ("BIG CHAP") - w/ removable transparent dome, extendable jaws and glowing brain!
    * RIPLEY - w/ Flame Thrower
    * ASH - w/ Motion Detector
    * DALLAS (not pictured) - w/ Flame Thrower
    * KANE IN NOSTROMO SPACESUIT - w/ removable helmet and transparent visor

    To insure your action figure collection, get in touch with Collectibles Insurance, the official insurance company of the Figures.com network. Say "Figures.com" to get 5% off your first term premiums.

    To buy action figures, take a look at BigBadToyStore.com, AlterEgoComics.com, Toynk.com, BriansToys.com, ToyWiz.com, and MonkeyDepot.com.
