As long as the price isn't insane, this will look good next to my original. I can't wait to find out more.

SDCC13: Vintage Kenner ALIEN Gets New Lease On Life

DST To Super-Size Original 1979 Figure...

Original '79 Kenner Alien from the Collection of Jeff Saylor

On display at Gentle Giant's booth, but with no photography allowed, was a towering reproduction of Kenner's vintage 1979 18" ALIEN action figure. To be released by Diamond Select Toys as part of their new Alien license, the Gentle Giant sculpted toy is being super-sized from its original 18" height to a towering 24-inches tall. Aside from the larger size, the creature will be authentic to the Kenner figure, featuring:

    - Articulated and poseable jumbo figure
    - Spring loaded arms
    - Moveable tail
    - Authentic clear dome
    - Mechanically operated jaws
    - Includes 1979 vintage style packaging with ALIEN instruction sheet and packaging

No word on price or release date yet, but it has to be more affordable than throwing down $400 for a vintage Kenner Alien in (often beat up) packaging.
