    LEGO Simpsons Announced

Building Block Company Takes On Long-Running Animated Series...

News is out that LEGO has acquired the license for The Simpsons, the longest-running American sitcom. The special series of Simpsons LEGO building block sets will launch globally in 2014. Details are forthcoming, but already the LEGO community is divided about the announcement, with a select group of vocal fans opposed claiming that the license tarnishes LEGO's all-age-groups innocence. The Simpsons, which has been airing on Fox Television for 24 seasons, is rated TV14 (A program containing some material that many parents would find unsuitable for children under 14 years of age). The last I checked, LEGO was quite successful with their Star Wars license, a movie series that has been consistently rated PG (in TV terms that's a program containing material that parents may find unsuitable for younger children.) Your thoughts?
