Upper Deck is best known for its wide range of sports cards and memorabilia, but they also make trading cards, card games, and other products based on Marvel Comics, Marvel films, Marvel’s Super Hero Squad cartoon, Hello Kitty, and more. At GAMA 2013 Upper Deck set up several display cases with various products from those lines, but the focus was clearly on their Legendary Marvel Deck Building Game. Available in stores now, this game pits players against a villain mastermind as well as each other, defeating lesser villains, rescuing innocents, and recruiting other heroes to gain points. I sat down and played a demo game, very quickly getting the hang of the mechanics. As play progressed I found myself leaning toward the Captain America and Hulk cards to increase my fighting abilities, and pressed Red Skull (our main villain), foiling his plot to use the Cosmic Cube. The game can be played with a wide variety of different cards for different experiences, and Upper Deck was proud to announce the upcoming expansion set Dark City featuring even more heroes and villains. Ask about Legendary at your local game store as well as the other great games from Upper Deck!
