SDCC12: Hasbro Boldly Goes Where No Kre-o Has Gone Before

Star Trek Joins Transformers And Battleship...

You can see photos of all the cool Kre-o figures and sets in our SDCC gallery HERE.

Hasbro’s brick building line, Kre-o, has been flying off the shelves with its Transformers series. Joining large buildable and transformable Autobots and Decepticons as well as cool little Kreon mini-figures, Kre-o has definitely found its way into the hearts of fans. Next Hasbro unveiled Battleship sets which have all sorts of cool vehicles and aliens. Going into San Diego Comic-Con we knew we would see all of the latest items in the Transformers line, but right beforehand Hasbro made a huge announcement that we’d be seeing Star Trek Kre-o!

Plenty of Star Trek will be coming, but to tease the fans Hasbro brought just one item... the Enterprise! Based on the J.J. Abrams film, the vehicle is movie-authentic in the Kre-o style and features an opening saucer section so you can play with the Kreon figures on the ship’s bridge. Look for it in stores next May. There was also a giant Kirk Kreon that made for a fun photo op. Battleship was represented by a cool diorama and displays of the Battle Base, Mine Stryker, and Air Assault.

Transformers too had a massive diorama display as well as several cases full of sets and figures. The “biggest” reveal was the new line of Micro-Changers, Kreon figures that actually transform into alt modes! These will come in regular single figure packs as well as combiner teams. Also on hand were the full-size sets Stealth Bumblebee, Street Showdown (Knock Out vs. Wheeljack) and Kreon-focused Decepticon Ambush.
