[HR][/HR][B]Neon Genesis Evangelion[/B], which debuted in Japan in October of 1995, is one of the most well-known, acclaimed, and successful anime series of all-time. It has the distinction of being created for animation before it was ever adapted to manga and has spurred an array of spin-offs, sequels, and re-tellings, as well as a huge assortment of merchandise and a healthy fan-base. Much of its popularity comes from the attractive line-up of female characters, especially fan-favorites [B]Rei Ayanami[/B] and [B]Asuka Langley Soryu[/B].
