Re: Hot Toys MMS Toy Show Exclusive Batman Begins Batman

I am a HUGE Batman fan and have collected some of Hot toys Batman figures, or at least the ones I have managed to get a hold of due to the increasingly ridiculous price they go for. It's near impossible to get this figure at less than £300 on a secondary market site, so I'm very glad to hear this figure is making a full market release in October which I'm abso-damn-lutely going to wait for.

Fans of the Bat won't hesitate to drop big money on a new figure, statue, or collectible featuring the millionaire-turned-vigilante comic hero. Of course, it doesn't take long to find a company churning out high quality Batman figures this day and age, especially with two previously released live-action movies, a number of new animated films, a forthcoming new comic series and third live-action movie, and a rich 70 year history.

Now, thanks to Hot Toys latest Toy Show exclusive release, fans of the Dark Knight can pick up the latest release: Batman Begins: Batman/Bruce Wayne Movie Masterpiece Series 12" figure, a perfect 1/6th scale representation of the character from the first live-action film. Featuring a variety of weapons, two unique looks, and a number of impressive, interchangeable display options, this is one figure die-hard Batman fans won't want to miss.

    PACKAGING:

Packed in a detailed black and yellow box made up to look like the chest crest and harness of Bruce Wayne's pre-Batman costume, the durable package - like all Hot Toys' releases - features the figure securely housed inside thanks to vaccu-formed plastic tray which houses the figure and accessories.

    SCULPTING & PAINT APPLICATION:

The sculpting of the Batsuit - accurate to the original costume seen in the Batman Begins film - shows the solid neck cowl, unmistakeable chest insignia, abdominal muscles, body armor and protective plates, and detailed belt with its countless weapons and tools.

Likewise, this figure features one of the most impressive Christian Bale head sculpts ever captured in plastic (above). Die-hard fans will immediately fall in love with the Kojin's magnificent work and will no doubt be torn on which way to display this piece, especially considering the "Batman" head actually features three interchangeable lower facial features, including a stoic look, a grimace, and the more aggressive, "grunting" pursed lips (below).

Truly the perfect example of "action figure art," the sheer detail - to include the amazing paint work by J.C. Hong - mean this is one figure that'll have collectors and fans excited.

    ARTICULATION:

Featuring the standard True Type body underneath the rubberized Batsuit, the figure features plenty of articulation points, including multi-joint shoulders, hips, elbows, knees, and ankles. The body suit does impede some of the articulation, though the figure is still plenty poseable and able to assume a wide variety of action-oriented, battle positions for display.

    ACCESSORIES:

Featuring a wide variety of accessories (as seen in the film), the figure includes a detachable cape (seen above), seven interchangeable gloved palms including one pair of relaxed palms, one pair of fists, one right palm for holding the grapple gun, one right palm for holding a batarang, and one left palm for holding the bomb. The figure also includes a grapple gun, a bat bomb, two removable batarangs on belt clip, a full set of climbing gear (harness and belt) and a ski-mask that fits over the Bruce Wayne head sculpt (for the "Pre-Batman" dress, bottom).

Lastly, a Batman/ Bruce Wayne display base with nameplate and movie logo is also included. In all, the figure features plenty of accessories providing a variety of display options for those fans who wish to show off either Bruce Wayne or Batman on their display shelf.

    COST & OVERALL IMPRESSION:

For die-hard Batman fans, buying this figure is a no-brainer. One of the finest Batman figures available, Hot Toys continues to outdo themselves time and time again.

Available for $225 through Sideshow Collectibles, fans may have better luck finding this figure on the secondary market due to its limited edition number and its exclusive release at this summer's toy shows. If fans aren't worth waiting until the official, domestic release in October, the secondary market is the only place to go at this time.

The ideal Batman Begins figure for any collector or fan of the new live-action film series, there's no doubt this is one of the finest Batman figures around. With a fully poseable 12" body, a detailed sculpted rubber body suit, plenty of accessories, interchangeable outfits, head sculpts and faces, and a simple yet attractive package, the Hot Toys Toy Show Exclusive Batman Begins Batman/Bruce Wayne MMS figure is sure to top collector's lists as one of the best figures of 2011.

Get on the "Waitlist" to own this figure by checking out Sideshow Collectibles!
