Re: FIRST LOOK - Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher I wouldn't count this one out until you see a final production figure. I'm sure you've seen NECA's prototype figures in the past (even fully painted ones) that didn't seem to have much articulation at all. With the style of swivel-hinge hips they've been favoring of late in the Player Select series, I could see it being the last joint they create and would understand it not being in the current proto. If it doesn't show up at all, hell I'll still buy it. I hope that inthe end they go with a swivel-hinge joint and I think with a long-running franchise with a strong fanbase they have more incentive to do so. Ill buy it either way because, quite frankly, I've never bought a NECA figure I didn't like. So let's hope. I, like you guys, don't see much usefulness in ball-hinged knees if there's no hip articulation, so I'll hold off judgment until I see the completed figure.
Re: FIRST LOOK - Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher yeah, you guys do have a very good point when it comes to NECA's articulation. i completely forgot about the ninja gaiden figure they did. it did have a world of articulation. and the articulation on their assassin's creed figure wasn't have bad either. i think i'm more interested in sculpt. to be honest, i'm the last person who should have an opinion because i do not open my figures. however, i did pick up an extra agent 47 and yes, he was nothing more than a statue. i'm sure to buy an extra sam, since i've waited so long for one. i really do wonder how they go about determining which figures will have full motion and which wouldn't. i guess as long as they look as good as they do, i for one wouldn't care. but yes, you guys do strike a good point ... especially about the knee articulation bit, that was pretty funny.
Re: FIRST LOOK - Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher I can't understand Neca. They're going backwards it seems. Player Select series 1 Statues Ninja Gaiden OMGSH articulation Prototype statue. Dead Space good articulation Army of two I can't feel mah legs Dante's inferno. OMGSH articulation This no hips
Re: FIRST LOOK - Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher That Dead Space figure was pretty awesome, as was Altair from Assassin's Creed. When they put the effort in they really can turnout some great figures. I just wish they listened to their fans feedback a bit more like Hot Toys, Hasbro, and Mattel even do. I wish they would revisit the Gears of War RAAM and the Boomers. Maybe put out some limited editions at Conventions or Toy Fairs at their proper sizes.

If his knees bend but his hips don't... then the knees might as well not be articulated. The only reason I'm glad to see any ankle movement in NECA's no hip action figures is because if they weren't, most (of the no hip movement peeps) wouldn't be able to stand. I bought my gf all their Twilight figs (just so my stuff doesn't dominate the living room completely... lol) and those things are near IMPOSSIBLE to stand. I love love love LOVE their Gears and Bioshock figures and they do amazing sculpts no matter what property they do, but the legs that don't move, 9 times out of 10, cause tons of frustration. NECA is totally my fav mass market company, and I understand they're not as big as a lot of their competitors so I try never to say **** about it, but sometimes it is a BIG pain in the *** and it would almost be better to wait for a time when a fig could get full motion. Like Issac Clarke, absolutely AMAZING stand alone figure with plenty of articulation.

Re: FIRST LOOK - Splinter Cell's Sam Fisher Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to see a Sam Fisher figure (at long last, lol!) but he should be done right. I don't understand how they can create figures of characters who are always running and crouching etc. and not give them useful articulation. Take in point my example of Ryu Hayabusa, they hit that guy out of the park! As for the Army of Two guys, granted they looked good, but they didn't even give them different weapons when weapon customising was one of the big draws of the game. I think that sometimes these companies get it wrong, plain and simple. Look at Sam here, why give him knee articulation and no hip articulation, it just doesn't work. What really disheartens me about NECA is that they can do excellent figures like Ryu Hayabusa, the Bioshock figures, the latest COGS and Locust but then make bad decisions with the likes of RAAM, Boomers, Rios and Salem etc.
