Sponge/Foam toy figures from early 90's

Does anyone know what the name of the toys were called that were made out of a foam or sponge material (same material as nerf) and were made up of all kinds of random sports figures, such as a wrestler, a weightlifter etc? They were about 5-6 inches in height. They came out in the early 90's. Please help.
