The mysteriously gigantic monster that ravishes all of New York in JJ Abrahms fast paced sci-fi film Cloverfield is finally revealed!

PACKAGING: Hasbro truly pulled all the stops on this one by not only producing a visually exhilarating outer design but by also including a destroyed New York City diorama which is concealed inside as well! The outer design of the upper portion of the box features a 360 degree wrap-around of the theatrical movie poster which is visually impressive to look at. The lower base of the package doubles as a diorama that is reveled by sliding off the top half of the box. The exterior of the lower half of the box features the CLOVERFIELD logo on one side and several movie screen shots on the other side.

The actual toy is housed inside two cardboard trays that anchor together on all four corners. The back of the interior diorama features a large photograph of the Cloverfield monster directly from the film.

SCULPT: This toy is truly a work of art from head to toe and is truly a poseable exact replica of the incredibly distinctive sci-fi creature. Every inch of sculpted detail on the mammoth creature’s body is sculpted to perfection! Although the creature is never fully shown in the film, you can tell that this amazing figure was created with direct collaboration from Universal and the special effects team that created the monster to achieve the highest level of accuracy possible. The creature’s truly unique anatomy was meticulously reproduced in a three-dimensional format by Hasbro’s incredibly talented design group.

PAINT: The level of paint detail on this plastic leviathan is amazing and makes the creature look almost alive from a distance. Several different painting techniques are evident on this piece which results in a very high level of realism.

FEATURES & ACCESSORIES: The towering 14” tall monster also includes several film-accurate sounds and several accessories:

- Interchangeable calm head (hidden panel conceals 10 parasites)

- Interchangeable angry open-mouthed head

- Statue of Liberty head accessory

The parasites and Statue of Liberty head are tiny in comparison to the humongous creature which provides an incredibly accurate sense of scale and demonstrates how huge this creature was in comparison to the city of New York. The Statue of Liberty head features a very convincing paint job that resembles aged metal and even has wires protruding from the severed neck and film-accurate damage. The creature has a sound button on the back that plays identical loud sounds from the film.

ARTICULATION: Aside from all the incredible details I have already covered, I left the best for last! Hasbro has given this massively large toy a whopping 70 points of articulation making it the most articulated figure ever produced! This amazing toy has way too many joints for me to list individually but trust me when I say that the abundance of hinged joints on the Cloverfield will provide collectors with endless hours of fun! Since the monster’s scale is so large in comparison to other toys, It is really fun to display random 3 ¾ scaled figures interacting with this goliath beast.

OVERALL IMPRESSION: Before receiving it, I was very doubtful if this toy would be worth the $100 price tag but once I opened this puppy up and played with it, there were no regrets at all. The Cloverfield monster is without-a-doubt, one of the most unique and fun toys I have ever owned.
