Naruto and Solomon Grundy smash their way to the cons... Mattel provides an exclusive first look at their two summer convention exclusives. (Note: Following images not final.)
First up is an exclusive figure of the hulking Solomon Grundy. The Justice League Unlimited baddie will come in a unique package inspired by the JLU episode "Wake the Dead." When a collector pulls on the plastic skull tab on the front of the pack, the entire box will shake violently as the the string reels in; indicating Grundy's Chaos Magic fueled rampage. Adding to the exclusive hunt, a chase figure will be randomily offered featuring Solomon Grundy with green sewer slime and Chaos Magic glowing eyes deco.
The second figure is pulled from the ninja sensation: Shonen Jump’s NARUTO. The Ninja Academy Naruto sports goggles that he originally wore, before graduating the ninja academy, holding the sacred scroll. A SUPER EXCLUSIVE figure of Naruto will also be offered. While images and complete details aren't available yet, Mattel's Dan Salazar states this mega-rare figure will come "super decked-out." ONLY ONE of this figure will be made for San Diego Comic-Con and ONLY ONE will be made for Wizard World Chicago. Will you be the lucky one to find him?
Both figures will be offered at San Diego Comic-Con (July 19-23) and Wizard World Chicago (August 4-6) and will retail for $20 each.
In addition, Mattel will hold their first ever Action Figure Fan Seminar at this Year's San Diego Comic-Con International. It will feature a preview of upcoming toys as well as a chance to interact directly with the toy makers in a Q&A panel.
