Supernatural is the hit show on the CW that follows the journey of the Winchester Brothers, raised to be soldiers and fight the supernatural by their father, as they travel across the Nation taking all manner of creepy crawlies and evil creatures. And now, Cinequest.com is proud to present to all of you the first in what I can only hope to be a loooooong line of mini-busts based upon the hit show.

The first bust in their exclusive Supernatural bust line is based on the episode and the character The Scarecrow. In the episode, Dean Winchester investigates a small Indiana town where couples have come up missing on the same day EVERY year. What he discovers is the ritualistic sacrifice by farmers to a pagan god that takes the form of a Scarecrow.

Cinequest.com has really delivered the goods on this one gang. Sculpted and hand painted by Atomic Monkey, this mini-bust is one of the coolest looking licensed items I have held in my hands in along time.

Taking a look at the box, the art and pictures on here are expertly put together by jmakes.com. The neutral colors bring out the dread and horror of the pagan god and the pictures of the product give you a great idea of what awaits you on the inside.

Also, instead of waiting 'til you pop the box open to find out what numbered piece you have received, they have placed the number on the top of the box, so no more worries about opening or not opening the bust just to figure out what number you have. (I know guys who keep busts in the box and NEVER display them. Don’t ask, it’s as weird as it sounds.)

Opening this one and pulling Scarecrow out I was pleased to not only find out why the box was so dang heavy (this one has some weight to it gang!), but also the fact that this bust looks even better in person then the pictures on the box. The detail on this guy is superb, and really shows what Atomic Monkey is capable of. Everything on here is a pleasure to look at. The grain of the wood of his cross is simply jaw-dropping, especially the ends that extend from under his arms.

The figure himself is just as cool. The detail on the coat, shirt and rope belt holding his pants up is almost lifelike. His left hand hangs limp and open, while his right hangs with his fist clenched over a deadly looking scythe. The hat on top of his head was something I had to study for awhile. I’ve always wanted to learn to sculpt, but I’m blown away at trying to figure out the tricks they used to make this thing look like fabric.

Moving down to the face, the detail of the sewn together burlap that covers its face is just like the hat, mind-numbingly awesome! Add to that the dark and empty stare in the eyeless sockets and you have a very scary looking baddie!

His coat extends down past where his waist would be, hanging along the sides of the base of the bust. This black base extends down into a wider bottom, where you find "The Scarecrow" in really cool, sculpted letters. On the bottom of the bust is a label of authenticity, and of course, the hand-number. My bust was 171 out of 750. (I LOVE low numbered busts!)

Cinequest.com, as I said before, has really delivered the goods on this one. I’ve got this one on display with some of my horror model kits and it is a sight to behold. He also makes a great drool-worthy piece to my friends who are Supernatural fans when they stop by for a chat. I can not recommend this piece enough.
