SDCC07: Diamond Select Toys Minimate Army Marches On

The Minimate craze is sweeping the nation, and Diamond Select Toys continues to fuel the fire with great new figures from popular licenses pulled from films, TV, comics, and more. There was something for everyoneat Diamond Select Toys' Minimates display at Comic-Con.

On the films side are Rocky figures, starting with the Rocky I set available this month for $14.99. Included in the set are two versions of the Italian Stallion (one in the ring and the other fighting the side of beef), Adrien, and Mickey. A Rocky II set containing Apollo Creed, FinalBout Rocky, Paulie, and Tough Guy Rocky is scheduled for October, also $14.99. There is also a Previews Exlusive 2-Pack of Rocky in tank top and Pet Shop Adrien coming in October for $6.99.

For television fans Diamond showed off its new 24 Minimates, sure to be hugely popular. The Season 1 boxed set includes Jack Bauer, Nina Myers, David Palmer, and Kim Bauer. It will debut in September for $15.00. Alsokeep watch for several variant Jack Bauer's coming soon.

Other Minimate lines also continue to do well, including the Marvel line. Based on the hugely popular comic series are Marvel Zombies sets coming out in waves. A new Marvel set is the Defenders boxed set with Dr.Strange, the Incredible Hulk, Namor, and Valkyrie coming in November for $14.99. Also on display were new Kellogg's Minimates with Toucan Sam from Fruit Loops, Dig 'Em Frog from Honey Smacks, the Keebler Elf, Tony the Tiger from Frosted Flakes, and Snap, Crackle, and Pop from Rice Crispies.
