Nintendo, Igor and The Beatles... Corporate restructuring aside (see "CORGI Restructure Defined") and the lose of the beloved Star Wars license has not brought Corgi International down to its knees.
Instead, the company continues to expand into new licensing territory.
Revealed at Toy Licensing 2007, Corgi will expand with the following new licensed catergories:
- NINTENDO: Collectible license agreement on a multi-category range of products through 2010 with Nintendo of America Inc. to produce ranges of product on Nintendo properties that include Super Mario, Donkey Kong and the Legend of Zelda.
- IGOR: Master license for a product line of toys and collectables for Exodus’ CG-animated feature film. The Weinstein Company is handling worldwide theatrical distribution for the film, which is set for a wide theatrical release on October 24, 2008.
This worldwide agreement will allow Corgi International to release a wide range of products including action figures, play sets, electronic role-play games, pocket money toys, vinyl figures, plush, statues, busts and other associated products.
- THE BEATLES: A multi-year deal with Apple Corps and Suba Films for a range of Beatles and Yellow Submarine Die Cast Collectables through 2010. This worldwide agreement will allow Corgi International to do territory specific programs utilizing iconic Beatles imagery on a range of die cast collectibles at different scales.
