New 1/4 scale deluxe figures, Play Arts, and more... Kotobukiya and Square Enix had an enormous amount of Final Fantasy collectibles on display at this year's SDCC.
The "biggest" announcment: a new series of 1/4 Scale Deluxe Figures based on the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children film. Both 1/4 Scale Sephiroth and 1/4 Scale Cloud Strife will hit stores early next year with a retail price TBD (Editor's Note: Expect to pay $400 plus for these bad boys, which include realistic clothing, character-specific weapons, and more).
Both the Mechanical Arts series (which includes numerous vehicles from the long running series) and the 1/6 scale Master Arms series (with numerous fan-favorite weapons to offer, including a 1/6 scale Cloud Strife transformable buster sword from the Advent Children film) were on hand as well.
Other figures on display included the forthcoming Kingdom Hearts II Play Arts figures (Sora, Kairi, Roxas, and Axel) and the forthcoming Final Fantasy XII Play Arts figures, which will be hitting stores in October and early 2007 respectively. The brand new Final Fantasy X Play Arts figures were for sale at the Kotobukiya booth and selling like hot cakes too. (Editor's Note: Look for a full review of the FF X figures soon.)
