Kaiyodo's Black Shin Getter is a Hyper Hobby exclusive repaint of the previously released Revoltech Shin Getter 1. This exclusive was available as a mail away in the month of October and is a wicked new addition to Kaiyodo's Revoltech family...

PACKAGING: Black Shin Getter comes packaged in the basic Revoltech box with a sticker stating that it is a Hyper Hobby exclusive. As usual, the box gives you a great view of the figure inside. The back is covered with information as well as pictures of this wonderful figure in action.

SCULPT: Katsuhisa Yamaguchi outdid himself with this sculpt. Capturing the great combination of smooth and pointy lines of the character, this figure's sculpt shines. From his arm bands to the horns on his head, Black SHin Getter is amazing. The arm blades are sculpted to the point of being almost sharp enough to cut. They are quite pointy, so it is advisable to remove them when changing out the hands, so as not to stab yourself.

ARTICULATION: Articulation is trademark of the Revoltech line. Along with their special Revolver Joint, Kaiyodo continues to add as much articulation as they can fit into one figure. Black Shin Getter comes with 44 points and is capable of some seriously dynamic poses. Black Shin Getter bares Revolver Joints in the shoulders, midsection, head, elbows, hips, knees, and feet. With that many joints, the amount of display options are endless.

PAINT: Where as Shin Getter was predominantly white and red, this black variant is just that, mostly black. A graphite metal is also applied, along with some golden accents on the head and at the elbows. The aforementioned engraved panels are colored in a deep red, which really stands out nicely against the black without becoming a distraction.

ACCESSORIES: Black Shin Getter comes geared up for some serious action figure fun. He comes equipped with a massive Getter Tomahawk, a pair of Getter Battle Wings, Stoner Sun Shine effect parts, four optional hands, and a HUGE gun.

The massive weapon that comes exclusively with the Black Shin Getter is a wonderfully sculpted addition, painted a completely dark metal in color. While the rifle's massive size would seem to pose a problem, it fits perfectly in the hands of Shin Getter in various poses and simply looks awesome.

COST & OVERALL IMPRESSION: This excluive retailed for around $20, but its secondary market price has more than tripled. If you manage to get your hands on the Black Shin Getter, you will not be disappointed. The figure is an amazing addition to the Revoltech line; featuring great sculpt, awesome paint, famed Revoltech articulation, and incredible accessories.
