Years have passed since Kaiyodo first put up their display for Assemble Borg at Wonder Festival 2007 (Winter). As of December 15th, the first two figures of the highly anticipated Assemble Borg line have been released... in Japan. Unfortunately, at the moment, the only method of distribution for the Assemble Borg is through Kaiyodo’s internet site for domestic (Japanese) sales. Kaiyodo does hope to provide these figures for the overseas market in the future.

Most details concerning the Assemble Borg have been released through Wonder Festival and Revoltech Expo coverage in the past (CLICK HERE to read all about Assemble Borg) and there isn’t much to be added at this time. What we do have to share are tons of new photographs of the first two Assemble Borg releases (to be followed by 003 Baron and 004 Cyber on January 15th, 2009). These include:

001 Mr. Assemble

The first figure of the Assemble Borg series includes two cybernetic parts as well as a weapon tray. Spare Revolver joints and optional hands are included in the weapons tray. For all intents and purposes, this figure can be considered “typical Revoltech”. There is nothing new with the articulation or durability of this figure. Just a new character, Mr. Assemble, leader of the Assemble Borg.

002 Barrels Speeder

This item, depending on how it is assembled, can be considered a vehicle, figure, weapons pack or any combination of these. With the parts included in this package, the figures/machines that can be made become limitless. Barrels Speeder, with all of its parts, is not quite as durable as Mr. Assemble and extra care is required with the pins which hold many of the parts in place. Unlike other vehicle toys, Barrels Speeder doesn’t have free spinning wheels. Although some people may feel this is a disappointment, most will be willing to make this sacrifice for the otherwise practically unlimited playability.
