Little Busters! is a popular Japanese visual novel series with two sequels including an adult version called Little Busters! Ecstasy. In the game the player takes the role of Riki Naoe, a young guy who was a member of a group of friends growing up who called themselves Little Busters. The figures from Kotobukiya are based on female members of Little Busters! that join the group when Riki is older. The first female member of the group, Rin Natsume, was the little sister of one of the members and the main heroine of the game. She is a quiet, anti-social girl that loves cats. Komari Kamikita is a rather immature, clumsy, and childish girl who enjoys frilly dresses, candy, picture books and fairy tales. SCULPT: The sculpting on both girls is very clean and simple which isn’t a bad thing. They are both in very nondescript uniform-type clothing which features little to no embellishments or detail, except for the nice work in showing the folds on the characters tops and skirts. Both girls feature big bows tied on the front of their shirts as well. The real focus, however, is on the character’s faces and poses capturing the cuteness and personality of the girls. Rin is sculpted in a slight running/leaping position, with her arms swinging at her sides and looking over her shoulder with a shy little smile. Komari, on the other hand is sitting with her legs sprawled out beneath her, a giddy, bubbly look on her face, as she is about to eat a sucker. ACCESSORIES: The show pieces I received had no extra accessories or packaging. The final pieces should be packaged in four-color window boxes with some alternate accessories. Images on Kotobukiya’s website show an alternate face and hair display for Rin with an angry expression and cat ears. Komari has an alternate smiling face without the twinkle and an unwrapped sucker. Apparently the final version of Komari will also have color-change panties Both girls also include a white display base with the Little Busters! logo printed in black. PAINT: The paint apps on both pieces really complete their overall look. The plaid pain job on their skirt looks very clean, as does the rest of their clothing. You will notice slight airbrushing throughout, giving them a shaded look. The eye transfers on both girls are very clean as well. Komari’s eyes, with their bright twinkle capture her character perfectly. OVERALL: Fans of bishoujo anime girls will love the cute look of these two figures. While not the most exciting anime figures on the market, they are definitely some of the cutest. You won’t be disappointed with the Little Busters! Both girls are available now from Kotobukiya.
